This year’s Quilts by the Bay was an enormous success with more than 600 people attending the two day event. Two thousand dollars was raised by the Silent Auction, the money will benefit the Digital Mammography Fund.
It was the best looking quilt of the bunch! That was what the “viewers” said. Hallie Hart, a nurse in the Acute Care Unit, NBRHC-DH, won the Viewers Choice Award at the 2010 Quilts by the Bay Quilt Show for best machine quilted quilt. Hallie was presented with a rosette from Quilt Canada for her beautiful work.
Local quilters; Kindred Quilters, Lakeside Quilters and Kelly Schroder made these beautiful quilts for raffle. $4,864.00 was raised and will benefit the Digital Mammography Fund. The raffle winners are Héléne Crépeau, queen size appliqué quilt; David Becker, queen size patchwork and Brenda Garrett, lap size quilt. The draw took place on September 12, 2010.
