Tia Health offers online appointments with a network of Canadian healthcare providers. Prescriptions, referrals, lab orders, mental health, and more. Free in Ontario with a valid health card for applicable services.

Health811: Connect with a registered nurse day or night for free, secure and confidential health advice. Call 811 (TTY: 711) or chat online.

Local pharmacists can prescribe medication for common ailments like pink eye, seasonal allergies and skin rashes, or renew certain prescriptions without having to visit a doctor.

University and College Health Care Services: Nipissing University and Canadore College students, staff, and immediate family members have access to many health and wellness services right on campus. Canadian Shield Health Care Services offer appointments on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

North Bay Indigenous Hub provides a wide range of programming services including traditional healing, primary care, health promotion, chronic disease management, family-focused maternal/child health care, mental wellness care, and diabetes care. All of the programs are delivered in a culturally safe manner to the local urban Indigenous population in addition to partner First Nations, Nipissing, Temagami and Dokis First Nations.

A mental health crisis is the onset of an emotional disturbance or situational distress involving a sudden breakdown of an individual’s ability to cope.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, the program is available twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week to provide mental health assessments, support and referrals. Crisis Intervention services are also available in East and West Nipissing.


ConnexOntario provides free and confidential health services information for people experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs, mental illness or gambling by connecting them with services in their area.

Pregnancy, Sexual and Reproductive Health

Pregnancyinfo.ca is an evidence-based informative website about pregnancy and childbirth for the Canadian public and healthcare professionals. From pre-conception through postpartum, this website provides accurate, credible and up-to-date information and education on topics related to pregnancy.


The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s Sexual Health Clinic  offers services and information about STIs and testing, pregnancy testing/options counselling, sexuality, sexual health and free condoms for everyone. Walk-in services are not available. Call to book an appointment.
