How we are partnering with patients and families
- Dignity and Respect
Listen to and honour patient and family perspectives
- Information Sharing
Communicate and share information with patients and families in useful and affirming ways
Patients and families are encouraged and supported to participate in care and decision making to the level they choose
Collaborate with patients and families in policy and program development
At NBRHC we value what patients and families are telling us about their care. Our Patient Advocate and Managers regularly share patient feedback and stories.
The Patient and Family Experience Survey also provides a simple and effective way to listen to what patients and families are saying.
Please share your experience and help us improve services together.
The survey is completely voluntary and anonymous.
Partnering with patients and families for quality improvement
Patient family centered care is an approach to the planning, delivery and evaluation of health care that is grounded in mutually beneficial partnerships among patients, families, and health care practitioners by truly partnering with patients and families… involving them… gaining their insights to better plan and deliver care (www.familycenteredcare.org)
We encourage and welcome patients and families to come and share their stories and volunteer to be part of a change project. We want to see better care, designed and improved from a patient perspective.
If your interested in volunteering as a ‘Change Partner’ fill out the form below.

Our road map towards Patient and Family Partnered Care
- Place patients and families first
- See patients and families actively involved
- Invite patients and families as Change Partners
We want to ensure that each patient can answer ‘yes’ to the following:
- Are my needs being met in hospital?
- Am I involved in my care?
- Am I prepared to care for my condition at home?
