Internal Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy Services is responsible for obtaining, storing, preparing, and distributing all medications for patients in the hospital and outpatient clinics.  Our goal is to provide a drug distribution system which is safe, secure, reliable and efficient. Drug distribution is supported by Pharmacy Assistants, Regulated Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists.

Pharmacists also provide direct patient care to ensure the appropriate selection, use, and management of medications in patients.  They are a source of medication education and information for patients and their families as well as other members of the health care team.

Department Services include:  Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADC’s), Ward Stock Distribution for non ADC units, a Central Intravenous Additive Program, Medication Reconciliation, a satellite Chemotherapy Clinic, Unit Dose Packaging and provision of Drug Information.Pharmacy Services are offered from 7 am-10 pm Monday through Friday and from 7 am-7 pm on weekends and statutory holidays.  After hours pharmacy services are provided by an on-call pharmacist.
