The unit offers both unplanned crisis and planned services to children and adolescents under the age of 18 with serious mental health problems living in Nipissing, Parry Sound, South Cochrane, and Muskoka Districts.

This program offers Mental Health clinical expertise, assessments, support, advocacy, discharge planning and case management of clients in crisis.

This service utilizes expert psychiatric nursing knowledge to assist in the assessment and development of the care/treatment plans of patients with mental health problems in the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, the program is available twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week to provide mental health assessments, support and referrals.

Eating Disorders

Eating Disorders

Provides individual time limited therapy for youth and time limited group therapy for adults. Offers consultation and education for patients and family members as well as community and hospital programs.

Emergency Department Psychiatric Consultations

This program, supported by the Nipissing Crisis Intervention Program, provides specialized psychiatric assessments and treatment for individuals presenting in crisis at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Outpatient Mental Health Clinic

Outpatient Mental Health Clinic

Provides time limited evidence based group psychotherapy using CBT and DBT applied approaches with a specialty in mood and anxiety disorders to enhance recovery and wellness.

Safe Beds

The program is available twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week for individuals (aged 16 and over) with a mental health or addiction.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery Program

Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery Program

Provides regional mental health services to individuals, families, and communities in North eastern Ontario. Both hospital and community based services are available. Patients are encouraged to participate in their care planning to the fullest extent possible.
