Inpatient Medicine

Inpatient Medicine is located on the top floor of the hospital (3rd floor) – Pods C and D. These units are often referred to as Pod C3 and D3. Most patients on this unit are admitted from the Emergency Department while others are transferred from the Critical Care Unit or Surgical Unit. Patients are admitted to Inpatient Medicine for treatment and/or monitoring of a medical condition and can expect a stay of 1 – 5 days.

Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP)

HELP is a quality enhancement program provided by our hospital that seeks to improve the hospital experience of hospitalized older patients.  Through a screening process and interview with the patient, the Elder Life Specialist will develop a “care plan” specific to each patient, listing specific interventions for HELP volunteers to carry-out during their volunteer shifts in order to keep the mind and body as active as possible in spite of illness.
