Stroke Centre (District)

The North Bay District Stroke Centre wants to ensure that all stroke survivors receive optimal, seamless, patient-centered care guided by best practices for stroke care. We serve stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA), patients across Nipissing and Temiskaming Districts. These patients include those admitted to hospital and living in the community.

Living with Stroke is a group learning program conducted weekly for six weeks. This program is designed for stroke survivors and their families/caregivers.  This program helps stroke survivors/families cope with the changes that have occurred after a stroke.  For information on upcoming sessions call 705-474-8600 ext. 3280 to learn more about the program itself visit:  www.heartandstroke.ca

The North Bay Stroke Support Group is a peer support group based on the belief that people who have faced, endured, and overcome adversity can offer useful support to each other. This initiative was facilitated through a partnership with the North Bay and District Stroke Centre. The meetings take place the first Wednesday of each month between 11 am and 12:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23, 150 First Avenue West in North Bay, ON. For more information, please contact Cathy at (705) 474-3528 or 1-800-263-3463 or send email to moebea@hotmail.com.
