Nipissing Eating Disorders Program

This program offers services to children, adolescents, and adults suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia and mixed syndromes, and provides supports for their families. The Nipissing Eating Disorders Program is a community-based assessment, case management, education, support and professional consultation program. It is based on the principles that eating disorders are complex, multi-determined conditions, which require treatment strategies focused on nutrition rehabilitation, normalization of eating and psychotherapy to address underlying causes, attitudes and behaviours.

District clinicians will:

  • accept referrals
  • complete screening
  • provide initial assessment, treatment and case management
  • provide psycho-education for individuals and their families
  • provide appropriate links with local community mental health and children’s and family services
  • support public and community initiatives.
